Delphine is a microbiologist who has been part of AgResearch since 2007. Her research interests are around managing the contamination of livestock, agricultural soils, or water with zoonotic or pathogenic agents.
Her primary project is characterising the faecal excretion of the human pathogen Campylobacter jejuni by dairy cows in different farm management systems. It is part of a government-funded program investigating the on-farm sources of contaminants and the transfer of those contaminants to the waterways.
Previously, she gained her PhD in Microbial Ecology at Lyon I University, France, evaluating to which extent the input of animal organic matter affects the degradation of the prion protein by the microbes in soil.of the prion protein by the microbes in soil.
