Alvaro Romera

Álvaro Romera’s expertise includes systems design and modelling. His focus is on advancing sustainable food systems, by studying them at the single animal, farm, and regional levels. In recent times his research has involved design methodologies that combine engineering rigor with soft techniques to enhance stakeholder involvement in co-design initiatives. He started his career as a scientist in Argentina and moved to New Zealand in 2007 to work at DairyNZ and started in AgResearch in 2020.
