I am a soil and environmental scientist, focusing on developing mitigation strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emission from grazed livestock systems. I am also contributing to the development and refinement of tools and methodologies for estimating national and farm-scale emissions. I hail from The Netherlands, where I gained a PhD in landscape ecology before embarking on a PostDoc in Cambridge, UK. In 1995, I came to New Zealand with my kiwi husband, when we both joined AgResearch.
