My farming background and interest in microbiology saw me complete a MSc in microbiology, then a PhD at Massey University, New Zealand.
My research expertise includes microbiology, antimicrobial resistance, microbial genomics, shotgun metagenomics and bioinformatics.
My current research areas include antimicrobial resistance, understanding environmental E. coli populations and utilising next-generation sequencing methods to improve water quality assessment tools.
