Privacy policy - Google
AgResearch does not directly collect or store any personal information from users of the App. We do not require users to register an account or log in with personal information when they use the App.
The App provides an AgResearch email address to which users may choose to send feedback or queries about the App. If users choose to communicate with AgResearch in this way, AgResearch will receive the user’s email address and any other personal information submitted by users in the email communication. We do not sell, publish or give away any personal information that you provide to us.
Where AgResearch receives personal information from users in this way, it will only use such personal information for the purpose for which the user has provided it, such as for technical support or to respond to any comments or feedback you have submitted. Only authorised employees will have access to this information. AgResearch will not store personal information beyond what is required to allow it to respond to users; for example, AgResearch will not create a database with email addresses of users it receives communication from. Email correspondence from users will be deleted after 90 days but will remain searchable in our system in line with legislative compliance purposes.
Users will have the right to request access to and correction of their information at any time while it is held by AgResearch.
While using the App, users have the optional ability to record GPS (location) tracking data (along with location name, recorder name and count of grassland species being tracked). The GPS data can then be emailed to any email address. Where users choose to record their GPS location, or display their location on a map of their choice, then this data may be collected by the third-party map applications. Users are responsible for their use of third-party applications and for ensuring that they understand how those third-party applications are accessing or storing data.
The user’s data generated by the App will not be stored outside of the device they are using unless the user chooses to send it to another device. AgResearch will not be responsible for the user’s use of data generated by the App.
The user is responsible for where it chooses to email the data generated by the App.
AgResearch may receive from Google a count of downloads of the App and details of the type of device and operating system version. This is not personal information. It will only be used by AgResearch for systems administration purposes.
The App is non-profit, meaning there are no signing fees or advertisements.
We may add to, remove or change the provisions of this Privacy Policy from time to time. All changes will be notified to you by being posted on this page. It is your responsibility as a user to ensure you familiarise yourself with any changes.
This Policy is effective from 4 February 2020.
